T-Minuus 2 Hours and Counting!

Morning Folks!!

In just a little over 2 hours we will do something unique and different and it will be done transparently right in front of everyone. The naysayers can continue wasting their time and energy while you watch a dozen motivated folks take the positions and begin to move these 18 wheelers over the crest of this monster of a mountain. While they root for our failure each success will be a dagger to their being.

If nothing else we have defined progress! We have done this entire undertaking in front of everyone. Each day methodically moving just a little bit closer to a HUGE goal. A goal that if and when achieved will change the way all non pigeon shit farmers do business.

You can own 100% of pigeon shit the size of a grape or you can share in the rewards of 5% of an asset the size of a watermelon. 5% of something vs 100% of NOTHING! or .NOTHING or .Pigeonshit

See you at 10AM EST TODAY!

Announcing the Domain Lease Draft, LIVE on RicksBlog.com Saturday at 10AM

Morning Folks!!

Are we having fun yet? Danny and I are going to keep moving this mountain and have some fun doing it and involve as many of you as want to be involved.

The 'Pick Your Properties' Reverse Domain Draft will be Saturday at 10am EDT and our 12 member sales force will select the domains they go to market with. So team, if you can make it, we'll do it live, right here on RicksBlog.com tomorrow. If not, see the P.S. below.

One BIG change to what was announced before and its one you need to take notice of: ALL of our listings are in play...y'all can have the pick of the pick and show people what you/we can do when you take a hungry tiger and take the bars off the cage. With one caveat. The 25 free agent domains below are off limits as far as exclusivity, however you can still market to your very targeted clients. We will also assign you one of these names IF you lease a domain OR you have a significant relationship with a specific domain name.

So, for every lease written you get to pick one domain from the following list to add to your roster. So there is a sense of urgency to all this because when we roll into T.R.A.F.F.I.C. in May, our goal is to have a handful of leases to waive around as we move the ball forward.

At 10AM tomorrow we will list the domains, announce the bidding order as far as the sales team. Each team member will be able to pick one domain per round for the first 5 rounds and then 2 domains a round for the next 5 rounds. That will give each of you 15 names to focus on. This is all subject to change but we are trying to keep it as simple and transparent as possible and will clearly state everything at 10AM.

So print out the listings from the blog, sharpen your pencil, grab a highlighter, put your game face on and get your 'list' together of which properties you want to pick to represent that no one else on our official team but Danny Welsh will be able to market for 3-6 months...
If you want a SalesTips.com tip on which of our 6 figure and up dollar domains you SHOULD pick to sell...it's simple:
1. If you already have C-level decision maker contacts in 'industry', pick an 'INDUSTRY.com' style domain names to represent (example 'GoFishing.com')
2. If you already have a hobby in an area and interest or passion for something that has a social group attached to it, then pick a SOCIALGROUP.com domain name (example Fisherman.com)
3. If you already use a product, love it, and know just which types of companies should want PRODUCT.com, then pick that one (e.g. BassBoats.com)
And so on and so forth. It's not hard. Rick and I picked less than 1% of 70,000 domain names, and thanks to our inaugural clients we were able to get the best of the best in value.
Now you guys get to each pick 10 to start with, start selling that value at a very affordable lease price...and then away we go!

'See' you Saturday at 10 AM EST right here on RicksBlog.com
And maybe in person May 27th in Vegas too?
Up to you.

Danny Welsh

PS If you can't do Saturday, send me your preferred list via email in order from 1 to 200 and Saturday I'll pick on your behalf from your choices and what's still available.

So you Think Rings.com is Best for Jewelry? I Think not!!

Afternoon Folks!!

It would be the knee jerk reaction of most to believe Rings.com should end up with a jewelry store. But is that REALLY the highest and best use? Absolutely not! As we have it the value is $3.5 Million. But how can you make that same domain worth 10x that? I have the answer.

The PERFECT use for Rings.com would be for Bing.com to go after Google Circles. That's the single best use at this point in time. Imagine making that sale. Persuading folks in power to make a decision that what we have can be useful in what they are trying to achieve. SIMPLE!

Maybe showing a strategic way to a common end has value? Maybe more than you might think.

Have a GREAT day!

There IS no “.com” monopoly and so “.whatever” is doomed to be (at best) second best

Morning Folks!!

You are about to see a full court press from every registrar out there. Yesterday you saw Godaddy.NOTHING. They have a lot at stake here. If .crap, craps out....then what? So imagine all the dollars that are going to be spent trying to brainwash people that inferior is superior. That's gonna be some trick. Tulips anyone?

But that has nothing to do with this post and not sure why I even went down this road. Maybe just as a warning not to swallow the bait as tempting as it might be.

Have you ever thought there might be a “monopoly” on “.com” domain names because most of the best of them are owned and not being “used” as you see it?

Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monopoly and maybe you'll see more of what Danny Welsh saw when he had the 'ha!' moment that matched my own 'ah' many years ago. Ah+Ha = Ah-ha! Get it? BTW, I’m genuinely sorry your customers email me every day when they want to buy from your established company. But you can’t say I didn’t tell you it would happen…and all this unpleasantness could have been avoided if you just hadn’t RUSHED to make thewww.wrong.choice :(

JointVentures.com
There's no '.com monopoly' and there is no shortage of extremely valuable .com domain names available for your business idea. If you believe that, you’re wrong. So what happened and why can't you buy the eRealEstate property you've got your eye on?

Read this blog and you’d understand why it’s YOUR fault you were asleep at the wheel for all those years and now are about to CRASH head-first into a future others predicted, transparently TOLD you would happen, and you went forward with driving a www.domain.crappy vehicle anyway.

It’s just timing and circumstances and human nature that has proven to turn the exchange of cash for one $100 bet many years before into an asset such as1019.com or Queen.com, while all attempts to copy and sell, buy, market/promote or make money with a 'good enough' alternative for either has proven a risky gamble with SIGNIFICANT consequences.
Just ask the fine folks at Ebid.net how many calls and emails their customer service handles weekly because their customers are confused.
We're not even sure it'd be legal for us to read the “confusion email” from their customers who don't even know what “.net” IS and regularly email someone that doesn’t exist to an @ebid.com email address no one marketed to them…when they want to buy or need support of some kind from ebid.com.

So once we realize it happens, we don't want to read sensitive information. But if you think hundreds upon hundreds of customers and prospects don't regularly email @Ebid.com email addresses --many times with credit card numbers, orders, personal information etc-- then you're in fantasy land that nothing more than a simple AUTORESPONDER EMAIL TEMPLATE I set up saying 'Sorry, wrong number!' would expose in a SHATTERING EXPLOSION that would have Rick Schwartz and Danny Welsh and getting this huge problem you've been ignoring handled NOW an URGENT and IMPORTANT topic of conversation at every executive meeting in your company starting...RIGHT NOW.

Rick Schwartz TOLD companies like that it would happen and they built their online company on sand anyway, sand that might simply WASH AWAY as their profits ERODE handed off one customer at a time to a competing auction company that does the same thing Rick Schwartz knew a company in the future would WANT to do because he had their 'Big Idea' years before they did when he staked his claim on the eBid.com eRealEstate property perfectly suited for an online auction company.

That doesn't make him a bad guy.
It makes him a bit of a sage, but even the most uncanny predictors of the future are rarely believed until that future unfolds.
Well, that future Rick predicted in 1993 is here....NOW
If your business wants to be 'good enough' for years, you can do that for an $8.99 gamble and register any old www.domain.crap such as a '.net' domain name.
If you want to be perceived as a market leader in MINUTES, protect your company from future leaks and failure...you can do that too.
Here's the part you need to understand if you followed the 'due diligence' bread crumbs we've left out for you to educate yourself on why doing business with us is a good idea...the same ones that led you without us in most cases spending a single PENNY for you to be right here, right now alonngside your customers AND competitors.

If you want
PRODUCT.com or
SERVICE.com or
SOCIAL.com or
###.com or
ABCD.com
Then simply bring your checkbook and your big ideas because the guy who can make that happen for you ain't selling for nickels when there are millions to be made with the RIGHT buyer of their eRealEstate asset...ESPECIALLY with a flood of www.domain.imitations about to flood the market and make the confusion even WORSE.
Choice is each business owner's to make for themselves!
Gamble? (.net)

Invest? (.com)

Dicey? (.co)

Proven Sales Increase? (.com)

Who had YOUR 'big idea' first?

This is a fork in the road, Mr. Business Owner.

Which path do you want to take?
I know which path -I- chose to partner with and lease eRealEstate from domain owners among the '500' and while the path is not yet completely paved, the price and terms have been more than fair so far.

And the mountain to climb gets easier the moment you choose an ALLY who has already had your big idea (or something like it) and been to the top and can talk you through getting there too.

The guy's extending a hand of friendship...and if you don't take it and your competitor does...

Who is to blame?

Not the Rick Schwartz I know better everyday and am coming to trust as among the greatest allies I ever thought I might have the good fortune to meet.

Want to go to the top of your niche?

Then the first step up the mountain is to make Rick an offer he can't refuse...

See you at the Top!

Breaking: JointVentures.com Announces Entire 2013 Sales Team!

Afternoon Folks!!

You can only climb a mountain one step at a time if you want to get there and get there safely. We are about to announce our 12 member sales team and this is a very big step in building a 'Gung-ho' organization. What is a 'Gung-ho' organization? Well that is pretty simple. And there may be a variety of definitions. Mine is when every member of a team is passionate and motivated striving for a common goal.

We advertised for 12 we got 12. We advertised for a sales manager and we got a sales manager. Before you do something you have to have the idea and the dream and then tell the world. That is the same with selling or leasing a domain or anything else you might do in life.

As early as Saturday we will have a LIVE 'Domain Draft' similar to pro sports. We expect 10-15 rounds of which each sales team member selects up to 20 domains to personally market. The first 3 team members that secures 3 paid leases by TRAFFIC, will get a FREE ticket to TRAFFIC and join Danny and myself on stage.

This will not be easy but it will be easier as time goes on and that is the thing to remember most. There will be resistance but that can be overcome with solid arguments backed up by numbers and examples.

The top 25 domains may or may not be up for Draft. To represent those domains, you will have to earn that privilege by demonstrating results. Those domains Danny and I will personally work until things shake out. But we will announce all the other details by Friday.

So without further blah, blah, blah from me. Let me present the 2013 JointVentures.com sales force. Each of which you can meet via their video applications. I see a lot of desire there and I think their hunger and desire may just get this monster of a movement to be a success.

Angela (Newgrl)

None of us knows where this journey will lead. For some it may lead nowhere.
For others it may be life changing or it may just turn into an education.
There will be headwinds and there will be noise, but nothing will hold back the wave of domain leasing!

We believe it will and can be profitable for many years.
With each lease will be more oxygen to work with.
With each lease the next one gets just a tiny bit easier.
With each lease we demonstrate the viability of this model.
With each lease there is one more reason not to sell your domains.
With each lease it will point to the elements that make certain domains attractive to lease.
With each lease you will once again see a rapid rise in domain name values and demand.
With each lease you are watching something unfold 20 years in the making.

But it does not stop there. It only starts there.
Next is a success, longevity and an exit plan for both sides.

Have a GREAT Day!

The Internet the Way it Should Have Been. One Techie Wearing 8 Hats = Failure

Morning Folks!!

We all know how it was, but how should it have been? Let's walk with me in the perfect setting. In the setting of goals and not all the petty nonsense we have wasted 20 years with. We did have a dot com crash or two along the way.

Why?

Because the IT guys (techies) were in control of things that they had no business being in control of because the business owner was completely ignorant to anything online. So owners depended on the IT for every decision including sales and marketing. Please!! Not the fault of the IT guy. But it lands on him anyways!

So the IT guy has his blinders on and sees the world in one dimension. Why? Because IT guys are paid to think that way. That does not translate well when you have to interact with others. Some 'Nerds' don't interact well. Big news to ya??

But let's look at the way it should have been and how it will evolve and then you will see what I see. Maybe. Then you can see why standing back for 20 years was REQUIRED. If it were up to me we would have been to this point in about 20 months not 20 years.

Back to the subject.....

Let's have a rectangular table with 8 seats. Let's figure who to put in those 8 seats to make a complete business.

1. You have the domain name at one end of that table. Sorry, all starts there no matter what your IT guy told you 20 years ago. He was wrong and you asked a nerd to make a marketing decision for you. Think that is smart Mr. Business Owner? See you have to take some of the responsibility because it was your decision to listen to him and not learn for yourself.

Guess what....20 years later and you have been FORCED to learn or risk going out of business. So you have a choice, you can keep listening to your IT folks, take control yourself or find out who really has the CORE answers you need.

2. You have the business owner sitting on the other end of that table. This time take your seat and don't give it away to your IT guy because he will be sitting right next to you anyways.

3. Your IT guy. Yes, I want your nerd at the table. He belongs there. He in a very important piece of the seating. But until now Mr. Business Owner, you have allowed him to occupy all 8 seats. Not Good!! But we are going to get past that TODAY! Hold his hand if you must.

4. Sales and Marketing. They need to be on the other side of the Business Owner. They keep the money flowing if they do their job right and you suffer big time if they do not.

5. Content and Graphics. Sometimes the IT guys are good at this too. Usually not. So you need a creative department that us actually creative.

6. SEO....NOW is the time for the SEO guy to come to the table. When everything is setup, THAT is when he becomes important in the equation.

7. This is when Mr. Business Owner steps up to the plate and lets go of the hand of the IT guy and takes back control of his company and his destiny. I don't know who # 7 is, but I can tell you Mr. Business owner will figure out who it will be to help him once he understands his company again.

8. A guy like me that tells you what you don't want to hear cuz it's no skin off my nose. So Mr. Business owner, you have a choice. Leap or keep holding the hand of the guy that can't lead you where you want to go. He may be a great guy and I am sure he is, but he has no business occupying all 8 seats and so it takes a guy like me to grab you by the neck and force you to look at your business and take back control of it. YOU made the business what it is, are you sure you just want to throw that away?

My point is we all wasted so many years getting to the point we are at now. The starting point. Many now armed with knowledge. I wish it did not take this long. But I always knew it would and eventually we would get to this point. The point where something like this post actually makes sense to the end user because it is exactly what they did. I have traveled with them in their shoes and as each reads this they will be blown away by just how spot on it is. They will relate and they will see things much differently than before they read this post.

Or they will just shrug their shoulders and carry on whatever. They used to be excellent, but progress and the lack of will to keep up with their peers made them mediocre and that's just something all sides have to accept. One day some lead gen site will come along and eat their lunch and they'll never know what happened.

This Jerk Owns The Perfect Domain Name For My Business and Isn’t Doing Anything With It

“This Jerk Owns
The Perfect Domain Name For My Business and Isn’t Doing Anything With It!”

BY Danny Welsh
JointVentures.com
Danny Welsh here. I have a confession to make. You see...I don’t know whether
our 120 or so domain owner clients other than Rick himself with
JointVentures.com this year realize it or not yet, but I don’t consider myself
a “domainer”. I have never claimed to be
a guru of domaining and probably my personal portfolio will take many years and
maybe decades to equal that assembled in ONE YEAR many times now owned by the
top 500 domain asset owners who read this blog regularly
-- if it everdoes-- unless they
agree to sell me their best properties at 1998’s prices and simply retire into
the sunset.

Fat chance of that, right? Look how far I got trying to buy
just ONE from Rick Schwartz? LOL

So if you are driven and love your business category and
making sales and have .com on the brain for growing your company when your idea
CATEGORY.com domain name is taken…then…once you realize “the 500” own most of
the eRealEstate on the planet, in your business category and most others…you
can be bitter, whine and try to avoid the problem
.

Or you can
improvise, adapt and overcome that problem.

--- > I say of the top domain investors in the world that
bet on this “domain name” asset class in 1993 for $100 and a bit of luck mixed
with foresight and an idea…if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

--- > I say of the very best domain names in the world
available for a business to make sales with in 2013…if you can’t buy ‘em,
borrow ‘em.

Many domain investors laugh when they
hear how much
money 2 years ago I wanted to pay Rick Schwartz to buy one
of his best generic .com domain names that was “unused” as I saw it.

$2000 to buy the generic .com domain I wanted seemed fair
to me.

Just like the $xx,xxx UNSOLICITED offers daily for years
sitting in Rick Schwartz’s email inbox that never get responded to think their
offer is “fair” for a domain name that is “unused”.

I was wrong, and so were they.

But we entrepreneurs
looking to do bigger business online are increasingly figuring it out and
coming round to admire the guy for his vision and balls to bet on a future
people thought would never happen 20 years ago… enough to call him CRAZY for
risking $100 for an intangible idea that he wouldn’t part with for $1,000,000
20 years later when folks try everything they can to track him down and offer
$100,000 without any attempt for him to even ADVERTISE IT FOR SALE.

$2000 to buy the generic .com domain I wanted seemed fair
to me.
That was before I had a clue
that domain name I wanted for one of my own end user businesses might just be worth more than what I offered
him to buy it PER MONTH when used properly to propel profits

$2000 to buy the generic .com domain I wanted seemed fair
to me.
That was before I realized
the very same asset could be used by my small business and worth even more than
that when paired with medium or larger one with more resources to MULTIPLY each
of the benefits that come along with pairing a BUSINESS with a great .com
domain.

$2000 to buy the generic .com domain I wanted seemed fair
to me.
That was before I realized
that at that time 2 years ago, the damn domain name that had a PRICE of $100 in
1993 in 2010 may very well have had a greater VALUE to the actual
brick-and-mortar established businesses hoping to BUY IT than the businesses
themselves.

$2000 to buy the generic .com domain I wanted seemed fair
to me.
That was before I fully
understood the difference between any old domain name for any given business
and THE domain name for any given business CATEGORY.

Here we are 2 years later, and damned if a real estate guy
hasn’t been converted that virtual domain names “eRealEstate” holds more value
and potential for income growth in my lifetime than it’s physical real life
counterpart.

In 20 years from conception of idea to a new asset class the
likes of which the world has never seen…and is still simply not yet prepared to
deal with except a few smart companies
that “get it”.

DAMN.

How has the world moved so quickly?!
