Morning Folks!!
I am sure of one thing. Some folks will criticize our auction list. But so be it. I have hand picked each and every domain on the list. 50% of the list is a 'No Reserve' auction and it is not on Pigeon Shit domains. It is from sharp domainers that actually understand what an auction is and exactly what I am trying to accomplish. These are the best domains on the market at this moment that have been submitted to us with prices that will sell to other domainers. I have rejected every retail priced domain unless they can produce a minimum of 2-3 bonafide parties with a genuine interest.
So for the folks that criticize the list because they don't understand marketing or domains, I will say just one thing, this list is probably a better portfolio then you actually hold now. Anyone starting with this list, would be in pretty decent shape.
You would have to refer to my previous posts, here and here, on the auction to understand what we are doing. I have not done a favor for anyone. Domains are picked on their own merit and whether it is priced right for domainers. Nothing more, nothing less.
Folks have also been very understanding when I turn them down and I appreciate that. Some were great domains. But they need end users to get the value out. Domainers need an upside of 10x-100x to buy a domain name. If that upside is not there, then I have to reject the domain. I reject because if I were in the audience, I would not buy it at that price.
So I will take the entire blame for this auction. But there will be no blame. I know a success when I see it. I know what has been missing. I know what YOU want and what YOU need. I don't have to have numbers to impress my boss. 'I' am the only one that needs to be satisfied and if I am satisfied, YOU will be thrilled.
Once we get to 100 lots I will close off submissions. If these are the only ones, so be it. I don't keep an excel spreadsheet that compares year over year. I have no numbers to beat. I just want to present an auction to this industry that they are proud of. That the action is like NOTHING they have ever seen before. And th ONLY complaints is that we moved way too fast. Sorry, but with 3 auctioneers you better be paying close attention during the auction because we are going to move at warp speed.
Here is the list as of this morning. I am still considering others. I did remember last year that the BULK of really good domains came in during the last 2 weeks. So we still have room. But I am not concerned about numbers which is rare for me. I only care that if it is in the auction it sells at the highest price the audience will pay and the SECOND the gavel goes down, The NEXT domain will be on the auction block!

I’m probably just missing it, but is there a link to where you can submit a domain?
Mike
Sorry, but most of these domain are pigeon shits. There are other opinions too.
HenrytheSecond
2 grand for a ticket plus hotel and airfare to go to Traffic and this is the best you can come up with? I’ll keep the 4 grand I was going to spend and buy a name thats 10 times as good as any of these for pennies on the dollar. Just call it as I see it Rickster.
Rick Schwartz
Henry,
I could go out and get the very BEST multi million dollar domains in the world….and guess what? Not a single sale will be made. Just mental masturbation. Like I predicted.
Please name the 10 names YOU OWN that are better than FanClub.com or AmusementPark.com and many of the others listed? Let your PEERS be the judge.
Put up, or shut up Henry. That’s FAIR don’t ya think??
Uzoma
How cam anyone in the world say”no” to Neu? Please reconsider, Rick!
On a serious note, I will recommend that the the domains listed above be made”no-reserve”. If Tumors.com can list at”no-reserve”, all domains can also, that way, it be guaranteed to sell, since that’s the goal.
Anunt
ALL the good premium domains are taken and will never be for sale unless you spend $1M+…this is 2012…u are late to the game if you’re looking for domains like toys.com
@Domains
What does ‘Aggressively Priced’ mean for 3dMovie.com?
Looking forward to see how Tumors and Fibre do in the auction.
BillW
Rick, you can not be more right. Some people just don’t get it!
Mike and Henry…show Rick and the rest of us what you think a good name is! OK, so you like Cars.com sure!!!!!!!!!!! so does Rick and everyone else. Tickets.com… Duh!!! Well you can’t names like that at any price and they will probably NEVER be for sale anyway.
But names like these below in Ricks auction are awesome…if you know what to do with them!! Here’s you competiton M & H…batter up!!
3dMovie.com
AmusementPark.com
CheapLaptops.com
FitnessResort.com
FanClub.com
Saws.com
BridalShowerRegistry.com
BillW
@Anunt….some of these are potentially ‘million dollar’ names.
Maybe just going to take another 10 + years to get there but you can take a name like saws.com and potentially corner that end of the tool market.
What’s that worth over the next 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 years to a saw manufacturer like Black and Decker, or Makita, or DeWalt, or Milwaukee not to mention possibly for the big box stores like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, or even Sears.
Amortize the cost over a hypothtical 25 year period. For a $1,000,000 bucks that’s $40,000 a year, or $ 109.59 a day.
IMO, it’s a steal at even a $1,000,000 for these mega million/billion dollar companies to own a catagory killer one-of-a-kind name like this in a product market of over a billion dollars in sales annually.
pro domains
It would be direct competition with .saws! Those new gtld’s are coming.
I am joking about the .saws extension…no denying that .com’s still carry huge values and is where the big market is. The gtld .com domains could be slightly ahead of their time and go for far lower than their real value. Hopefully anyone who has spent money on an ICANN application will realize that picking up a .com about gtld’s could offer big value in the advertising of new gtld extensions.
Best domain auction list ever!
Show us the money..
Fanclub.com is probably my best pick of them. Great URL for a tweenie type online mag and chat site for those getting into music etc just prior to teenagers.
Solarpaneling.com could be good as I could easily bring them in from the Far east. But Panelling has 2 L’s.
Show us the money..
No, URLs are just a marketing device. To find a saw on saws.com requires the graciousness of the search engines. When builders buy saws (FFS I own a construction company) they are a complementary product to everything else being bought at the same time. Hence I will go to the usual suppliers and bundle a whole bunch of things together and get a good discount.
If you want to sell saws to the DIY market then get a generic name or advertise on a DIY site.
Don’t buy expensive names or believe you know best unless you are actually in the industry.
BTW interested to see the sale of bra.com I know someone who’s friend used to own that a long while back and couldn’t sell bras on bra.com. So he sold it.
Sam
I have a few domains I purchased about 15 years ago that are better than all but 2 or 3 of the ones you’ve listed.
***.net
**mall.com
**cube.com
****server.com
I didn’t find any contact information on this site either. If you wish, you can contact me, and we can workout an agreement.

Ronald, .COM’s are done in the next 5 years…technology changes.
BillW
@Ronald….”.coms are done in the next 5 years…technology changes”.
Really??
Tell us how internet addresses to reach specific websites will no longer be needed.
And what system will replace them?
BillW
Ahhhhh….think I just figured out what”Ronald” has been reading. There was a good bit of press about the proposed”dotless” domains that ICANN has referred to on their website and even recently written about in numerous blogs as the next step for domains. Well, a bit of research and below is text of ICANN/ SSAC’s outright REJECTION of this feasability of this plan.
“On 23 February 2012, the ICANN Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC) published SAC 053: SSAC Report on Dotless Domains [PDF, 183 KB]. In this report, the SSAC stated that dotless domains would not be universally reachable and the SSAC recommended strongly against their use. As a result, the SSAC recommended that the use of DNS resource records such as A, AAAA, and MX in the apex of a Top-Level Domain (TLD) should be contractually prohibited where appropriate, and strongly discouraged in all cases.”
