Morning Folks!!
Would you like to get a 'Rick Schwartz Degree' in domain names? Want to know what I know? Want to find all the hidden secrets? Want to be in all the secret clubs?
I have a formula that will make almost any willing mind a domain graduate. If I got online today I would be confused as hell. Which way to turn? What to do? Which voices to listen to? I don't have all the answers. But I sure as hell have some of them.
So I have come up with a simple 90 day course that will turn a taxi cab driver into a domainer. So domainers should do even better!
If you are making more than $100k a year in domains you don't have to read this. But I think even you folks would turn what I say into 2X as much as you earn today.
So here is the program. In the last 4.5 years I have made about 650 total blog posts. If you eliminate the posts about T..R.A.F.F.I.C. you would be down to about 500. The program is easy and you can start today. Go to the archives and pull up April 2007. Read those posts. Then go to May 2007 and June 2007 and if you just read 5 or 6 posts per day, you will be fluent in domaining in 90 days. It's all there. Not just me, others leave important comments as well.
There it is, 90 days and you will have all your questions answered and answered accurately. Discard what you already know and grab some of the missing pieces.
Here is your first lesson. A link to my posts of April 2007.
When you are done, go read Mike Berkens blog. Go read Frank Schilling's Blog posts. Keep up with the news with Ron Jackson. See what new project Elliot is working on. I mean if computers were what you were interested in you would want to get Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. Please don't ask me where to find these things. Lazy STOPS here!
But even the Lazy can find the 'Cliff Notes' RIGHT HERE!
Have a GREAT Day!

Hi Rick,
I started reading your post and I have a good time already.
“Now that I got the #1 .mobi I have aimed for since day one, (Tickets.mobi) it will be interesting to see how the old guard domainers learn I am a big .mobi fan. (No surprise for some) I see it as the next best extension to dot com and really nobody needs to agree with me. The more folks disagree, the more I know I am on the right track. So save the naysaying for 5 years not 5 minutes. Then we can discuss why so many of my good friends missed such a winner. They will just say…..”Damn, Rick was right again.”

Develop yourself a sh^t hot widget for the iphone and android coupled with that brandable name (and google does index these URLs) then you’re in with a serious chance. But the process is where the action is, the URL is a good supporting complementary marketing device it won’t make you anything intrinsically.

Rick, I’ve been reading all your blog posts since at least April 2007, and thank you for all the valuable knowledge you have imparted during my 4 year degree program. Just checking the mailbox every day for the actual diploma to arrive!

nice Rick!

Hi Rick,
It very interesting & open invitation. I have been reading all your blog/chat board/targeted traffic board posts.I have read those posts even many times again and again.Even with your due permission I kept copies of liked posts for my reference to read it again and again to refresh my memory. And that routine continues to read your regular posts. Still will you tell me lazy? No way. But long story short, domaining is a vast subject. I want do my PhD in domain if possible. To make money is another direction. So many ways, made us confused! And how many million pages could we read and take action is the million dollar question. Have I not read Mike Berkens’, Illiot’s, or Frank Schilling’s blogs? Eeven I have watched many interviews by Michael Cyger(includes your one).Very interesting!! to learn all the topics as HUGE(!) materials but money.
Let us keep our fingers crossed! Thanks for your open invitation.
Gratefully,
Altaf

You really should write a book, Rick. Your personal stories are great and your tips are always informative. I still think you are wrong about .co though :-)

@adam
Pull your nose out, bro. You sound kind of pathetic.

I may have misread your post, Adam, and pulled the trigger a bit early. What were you trying to say?

Hold on, I responded to the wrong person. Maybe the wrong blog. Oh, I see what happened…I haven’t had my morning tea yet so I retract all my comments except the first one. Yeeps.

It is awesome that you are sharing this knowledge with the world. It is both mind opening and inspiring at the same time! Thank you!

@ Rick
You and I have had our differences but I would pay the $10k – $15k per semester that a good university charges just to learn your negotiation tactics – and you can take that to the bank.
I consider myself and pretty solid salesman and darn good negotiator, but I do tip my hat to you as I don’t know a single other person that could have pulled $400k plus out of Meet.me and $750k (I think?) out of iReport.com.
Maybe it can’t be learned? Maybe your balls are just bigger than the rest of ours – but that would be one class that I would love to attend!

Andrew Rosener,
With all do respect to you.
The matter is having”the balls in the right place”
